Mader Southeast is seeking an experienced, detail-driven Chief Estimator to lead the company’s estimating and preconstruction efforts across the Orlando and Tampa markets. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the full estimating process for commercial metal framing, drywall, acoustic ceilings and related scopes, ensuring bids are accurate, competitive and aligned with Mader Southeast’s standards for quality, responsiveness and service.

The Chief Estimator will work closely with company leadership, project management, business development and field operations to evaluate opportunities, guide estimating strategy and support the successful pursuit of commercial construction projects. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, proven estimating experience and the ability to lead a team while maintaining accuracy, organization and accountability in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating department, including workflow, bid assignments, deadlines and quality control.

• Review project plans, specifications, addenda and scope requirements to prepare accurate and competitive estimates.

• Oversee detailed quantity takeoffs for metal framing, drywall, acoustic ceilings and related commercial construction scopes.

• Develop complete bid packages, proposals and budgets for public and private projects.

• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing, ensuring scope alignment and cost accuracy.

• Identify project risks, exclusions, alternates and value engineering opportunities.

• Collaborate with project managers and field leadership to ensure estimates transition smoothly into active projects.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of estimating experience in commercial construction, preferably with a focus on drywall, metal framing, ceilings or related specialty contracting scopes.

• Previous leadership or department management experience preferred.

• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and construction documents.

• Experience preparing detailed takeoffs, budgets and competitive bids.

• Knowledge of commercial construction practices, materials, labor productivity and project sequencing.

• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

• Proficiency with estimating software such as OST, Quick Bid, Edge or similar platforms preferred.

Position Overview

Mader Southeast is seeking experienced Field Superintendents to join our Orlando and Tampa teams. The Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field operations of commercial metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceiling and related construction projects.

This position provides on-site leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and according to Mader Southeast’s quality standards. The Field Superintendent will coordinate manpower, materials, equipment and project schedules while maintaining strong communication with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors and field employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations for assigned commercial construction projects.

Physical Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and retake off projects following turnover from estimating to become fully familiar with the scope of work.
